Turkey hosts International Astronautical Congress in Antalya

Turkey is hosting the 77th International Astronautical Congress in Antalya, with the event continuing at the NEST Congress Center.

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Selçuk Bayraktar visited Turkish and international space exhibits.

Kacır said nearly 10,000 people from 111 countries attended the congress, and nearly 20,000 people came to its public day.

He said delegates from 32 countries joined the Antalya Declaration, which calls for space to remain an area of peace and cooperation and for the benefits of space work to be shared fairly.

Turkey also outlined plans for new satellites and a lunar mission in the early months of 2027.

Bayraktar said the sixth satellite developed by his Fergani initiative was due to launch in two weeks.

The event gives visitors and young people a chance to see space projects and brings countries together to discuss cooperation.
