Dave Lombardo Says ‘Reign in Blood’ Still Gives Him Chills 40 Years On

Former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo says the band’s album “Reign in Blood” still gives him chills, 40 years after its release.

He spoke about the album in an interview with radio host Scott Penfold, uploaded on October 9.

Lombardo said hearing its songs brings back the adrenaline he felt performing them on stage.

The album is considered one of Slayer’s most important and enduring records, and a key work in thrash metal.

Lombardo said he still enjoys good thrash, but feels recording software has made some newer music sound sterile.

He also remembered late Slayer co-founder and guitarist Jeff Hanneman as a funny person and an amazing songwriter.

The interview also covered other topics, with no further plans announced.
