Nippon Ham beats Seibu to reach Pacific League final stage

Nippon Ham beat Seibu 4-1 in Game 3 of the Pacific League Climax Series first stage.

After losing the opening game, Nippon Ham won the next two to advance to the final stage for a third straight year.

Designated hitter Franmil Reyes ran from the bench to join the players’ celebration at the mound after the final out.

Reyes had a hamstring injury during practice on September 16 and returned to the first team for the series.

He hit .313 with 32 home runs and 82 runs batted in during the regular season, but went 2 for 11 in the three games against Seibu.

His quick arrival showed how strongly he shared in the team’s win, despite his struggles at the plate.

Nippon Ham will face defending champion SoftBank away from home starting October 14.
