Javier Bardem says he wanted his Skyfall villain to desire Bond

Javier Bardem says he suggested making Raoul Silva, his villain in the James Bond film Skyfall, sexually interested in Bond.

He discussed the idea at a Screen Talk during the BFI London Film Festival.

Bardem said director Sam Mendes was open to it but first spoke with the studio.

The film includes a scene in which Silva touches the tied-up Bond and flirts with him.

Bond, played by Daniel Craig, responds with a line that leaves his past experience open to interpretation.

Bardem said the scene puts Bond in an unfamiliar situation and remains memorable to audiences.

The festival runs until Oct.

17, and Bardem is appearing there alongside two films.
