Early-onset Alzheimer’s linked to more health problems before diagnosis
Researchers compared health records for 407 people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s before age 65 with records for more than 4,000 similar people.
In the five years before diagnosis, the patients had more problems such as depression, headaches and seizures, and used healthcare more often.
High blood pressure and high cholesterol were not more common in the group with Alzheimer’s.
The pattern may help doctors consider the disease sooner, but no single symptom predicts it.
