Michael Cole Says Money in the Bank Is Near WWE’s Top Events
WWE commentator Michael Cole says Money in the Bank has become one of the company’s most important annual events.
He places it close to the Royal Rumble and Survivor Series, but says it has not yet reached the level of WrestleMania or SummerSlam.
The event’s ladder matches put a briefcase above the ring, and a winner can use the contract inside to claim a future championship opportunity.
Cole says the chance can change a wrestler’s career, and this year’s competitors include veterans and newcomers.
The event is taking place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Cole sometimes prefers not to know in advance who will win, because surprise endings can make the action more exciting.
He says he did not know beforehand that Brock Lesnar would end The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak or that Seth Rollins would cash in his contract at WrestleMania.
