Deloitte fined £6.05m over Go-Ahead audits

The watchdog found that Deloitte did not properly scrutinise Go-Ahead’s accounts over several years.

Two Go-Ahead subsidiaries kept more than £30 million in public money instead of returning it to the Government.

The money was later released as profit, and Go-Ahead was fined £23.5 million after the practice was discovered.

The watchdog reduced Deloitte’s fine from £11 million to £6.05 million because the firm cooperated and admitted failings.
