Anjana’s debut EP explores love, doubt and self-discovery
Singer Anjana Padmanabhan has released her first EP, “Yes No Maybe?”, with five songs about love and self-discovery.
The tracks follow emotions ranging from uncertainty about pursuing love to heartbreak, needing space and choosing yourself.
Anjana began developing the songs after she and friends created short pieces during a stay in Dharamshala in 2025.
The EP also reflects questions and doubts that people can face when making creative work.
Its music draws on Anjana’s South Indian roots and includes elements such as Carnatic violin, konnakol, Kannada lyrics and a kazoo.
Anjana first became known as the winner of “Indian Idol Junior” in 2013 and has performed in 14 languages across several genres.
She says the closing track, “Azadi”, is intended to encourage listeners to accept who they are.
The EP is available on major music platforms.

I have incorporated a Carnatic violin tune, konnakol, a verse in Kannada because I grew up in Bengaluru, and a kazoo, as they all connect me to who I am at the core
