Swiss shares rise to finish the week higher

Swiss shares ended Friday higher, and the SMI, the main Swiss stock index, gained 0.9% over the week.

The rise followed a losing week and came as bond yields fell and oil prices eased for part of the day.

US President Donald Trump denied reports of new US attacks in Iran and spoke of constructive talks with Tehran.

Oil later rose again after reports of a tanker being hit in the Persian Gulf.

UBS led gains among the largest listed companies, while Logitech was the only SMI stock to fall.

A market trader warned that the gains did not mean the underlying uncertainty had gone away.

Share markets remain sensitive to changes in oil prices and bond yields.
