Musk says Starlink competition would give Indian consumers more choice

SpaceX chief Elon Musk says Starlink should be allowed to compete in India, arguing that more competition would give consumers more choices.

He says Starlink would need affordable prices to attract customers and that Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani would remain in business even if profits fell.

Musk has accused business groups of trying to block Starlink’s entry, but the Indian government says delays are due to regulatory and security requirements.

Three satellite communication operators, including Starlink, have received licences.

However, security clearances are still pending, and the government is finalising rules for satellite spectrum pricing.

Commercial services can begin once the required conditions are met.
