Flavio Cobolli’s father shares death threat sent after Shanghai loss

Italian tennis player Flavio Cobolli lost to Adrian Mannarino in the second round of the Shanghai Masters.

After the match, a social media user sent a death threat about Cobolli to his father, Stefano.

Stefano shared the message on Instagram and urged social media companies to act against abuse.

He also asked parents to pay attention to what their children do online.

Cobolli is still fifth in the race to qualify for the ATP Finals, with five places available and a few regular-season tournaments left.

Online abuse has also affected other tennis players, including Coco Gauff, who said racist messages on X had been draining.

The ATP Finals qualification race continues as the remaining tournaments are played.
