No Indonesian Umrah Pilgrims Hurt in Houthi Attack on Riyadh Airport

Indonesia’s Hajj and Umrah Ministry says no Indonesian umrah pilgrims were hurt in a Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 10.

The ministry said 37 Indonesian pilgrims had travelled through the airport by October 11.

Saudi authorities said the attack killed 12 people and injured 309.

The ministry is urging Indonesian pilgrims already in Saudi Arabia to stay alert, follow local authorities’ instructions and avoid unnecessary travel outside Mecca and Medina.

It has also told travel companies to monitor pilgrims and help them if schedules change or assistance is needed.

People who have not yet left for umrah should check their flights and travel plans with their travel company, and follow official government updates before deciding whether to go.
