Arthur Fils says demanding tennis schedule is contributing to young players’ injuries

Jannik Sinner has ended his 2026 season because of a right knee injury.

The injury has kept him off court since he beat Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon final in July.

French player Arthur Fils said the tennis schedule is very demanding, with players travelling and competing each week in different conditions and time zones.

He said it was striking that many of the injured players this year are young, including Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Jack Draper and Fils himself.

Other high-profile players, including Lorenzo Musetti and Holger Rune, have also missed significant time through injury.

Fils said it is difficult to play as many tournaments as Sinner has and stay healthy.

He wished Sinner a good recovery.
