DCU film Clayface brings body horror to Gotham

Clayface brings body horror to the DCU’s Gotham City in a story about actor Matt Hagen, played by Tom Rhys Harries.

Hagen rises from the streets to become a major Hollywood star, but a crime boss’s attack leaves him disfigured and abandoned.

He seeks cutting-edge treatment that seems to restore him, but the treatment sends him spiralling out of control.

Naomi Ackie plays Caitlyn Corr, whose relationship with Matt is described as central to his story.

The film also stars Max Minghella as John Borrelli.

Its actors say the violence and practical effects make it a visceral horror film, while they felt its risky material suited the DCU.

The film brings a body-horror story and a love story into the DCU, though no further release or follow-up plans are given.
