Sean Payton takes back Broncos’ offensive playcalling duties

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton has taken back the job of calling offensive plays from coordinator Davis Webb.

Webb had taken over the role in the offseason, but Payton made the change after the team’s first four games.

Denver is 2-2, and its offense has struggled to score, run the ball and create big plays.

Payton said his experience and instincts led him to make the change, and he has expressed confidence in Webb’s future as a head coach.

Webb said losing the role is disappointing, but he will continue to help with weekly operations and game planning.

The Broncos now hope the change will improve the offense and help quarterback Bo Nix.

Their next game is against the Los Angeles Chargers.
