LuLu opens a large hypermarket at Chennai’s Shenoy Nagar Metro Station
LuLu opened a large hypermarket inside Shenoy Nagar Metro Station in Chennai on October 12.
The store covers about 100,000 square feet and combines groceries, fresh food, fashion, footwear and electronics.
Its opening drew huge crowds, with some shoppers waiting up to two hours to pay.
The store has 28 checkout counters and parking for more than 1,000 vehicles.
LuLu says the Shenoy Nagar store can accommodate about 25,000 customers a day.
The launch also brought a second LuLu store to Chennai’s metro network, a 35,000-square-foot LuLu Daily at Chennai Central Metro Station.
The new stores give shoppers more options to buy everyday goods and fresh food in the city.
