Falcons awaiting imaging results on Michael Penix Jr.’s rib injury
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. suffered a rib injury late in Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
He was hurt on a sack during a tied game in the fourth quarter.
Penix briefly left the field, then returned for one play before he could not get comfortable enough to continue.
Tua Tagovailoa replaced him in overtime and threw an interception that ended Atlanta’s possession and sealed the loss.
Penix finished with 19 completions on 32 attempts, 240 passing yards and one touchdown.
Coach Kevin Stefanski said the team expects to learn more after Penix undergoes imaging in the coming days.
The Falcons are scheduled to host the Chicago Bears in Week 6.
