Larvotto drilling finds high-grade gold and antimony at Hillgrove
Larvotto Resources has reported high-grade drilling results at its Hillgrove mine near Armidale, in New South Wales.
The results came from the Metz Mining Centre, where the company is drilling to extend and better understand the mineral deposits.
One drill hole found 20.5 metres grading 9.4 grams of gold equivalent per tonne at Blacklode, while another intersected a previously unidentified zone called the Echidna Lode.
The results also include mineralisation at Midas Gully and Endurance.
Some of the finds lie below areas classed as inferred resources and outside the current ore reserve, so they could support future resource growth.
Hillgrove has started commercial production and produced its first flotation concentrate in September as it works toward steady output.
Echidna is a new target for follow-up drilling, while further drilling is testing extensions to the known lodes.
Larvotto Resources reported high-grade gold-equivalent drill results from the Metz Mining Centre at its Hillgrove Project in New South Wales.
The results include a newly identified near-surface structure called the Echidna Lode.
A Blacklode drill hole intersected 20.5 metres grading 9.4 grams per tonne gold equivalent, including 6.2 metres at 27.2 grams per tonne.
The company said the drilling expanded the known mineralised footprint and indicated potential for resource conversion and mine-life extension.
Hillgrove began commercial production in late August, after delivering its first ore to stockpiles in May.
- Who
- Larvotto Resources reported the results.
- What
- Drilling found high-grade gold-equivalent mineralisation, including a previously unrecognised structure named the Echidna Lode.
- When
- The results were reported on October 12, 2026.
- Where
- At the Metz Mining Centre, part of the Hillgrove Project in New South Wales.
- Why
- The drilling is testing depth extensions and other structural targets, and may support resource conversion and mine-life extension.
This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
These latest results continue to demonstrate the significant scale, continuity and growth potential of the Metz Mining Centre.
Importantly, we are now consistently intersecting multiple high-grade gold-antimony-tungsten lodes across a growing mineralised footprint, while also discovering new mineralised structures outside the current resource model.
