EU and China agree to work on limits for Chinese hybrid car exports

Chinese hybrid cars have been selling quickly in Europe.

The EU and China have agreed to work on a plan that could reduce those exports by more than half over four years, compared with current trends.

They have not yet decided how the limits would work or when they would begin.

The talks also covered lower Chinese tariffs on some European goods and easier export permits for rare earth materials.
