Migros considers closing West Switzerland food producer CT by end of 2027

Migros is considering closing Centrale Traiteur (CT) by the end of 2027 at its West Switzerland site.

CT makes fresh, ready-to-eat products such as sandwiches, wraps and bowls, as well as food for restaurants.

Migros says expected growth did not materialize, making it difficult to develop the business over the long term while remaining competitive.

The review also reflects changing market and customer needs and a strategic adjustment to Migros’ product range.

The proposed closure affects 57 employees, who can submit ideas during a consultation process to prevent the closure or reduce its effects.

Migros has not made a final decision and says it will consider all proposals before deciding after the consultation ends.

An industrial bakery also based in Ecublens is not affected by the process.
