PSPV and Compromís back a possible alliance for Senate seats
Valencian parties PSPV and Compromís are open to a Senate alliance to seek more progressive seats from the region.
The idea is intended to challenge the Senate’s usual conservative majority.
The parties have not agreed on a plan, and Compromís says there has been no formal offer or contact from the PSOE.
PSPV says national party leaders should lead any talks, while its regional members support the idea.
Compromís spokesperson Joan Baldoví also supports an agreement, saying the Senate should not remain in right-wing hands for another four years.
A previous alliance proposal was rejected by Pedro Sánchez, when Ximo Puig was president of the Valencian government.
