Canada sends nearly 300 business delegates to India to expand trade
Canada is sending nearly 300 business delegates to India from October 12 to 17, in its largest trade mission there in more than 30 years.
Led by Canadian International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu, the group will visit Mumbai and Bengaluru.
The mission aims to connect Canadian companies with Indian officials, businesses and potential customers, and to build commercial partnerships.
Canada and India are negotiating a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, with the latest round held in Ottawa from October 5 to 9.
They aim to conclude the negotiations by the end of 2026 and have set a goal of raising two-way trade to CAD 70 billion by 2030.
Bilateral trade in goods and services totalled CAD 30.4 billion in 2025.
Canada also wants to expand trade with markets beyond the United States, and the delegation is part of that effort.
