Midnight Spider-Man #1 depicts Oscorp’s brutal experiments

Midnight Spider-Man is a new series that gives Peter Parker’s story a darker setting.

In its first issue, an unnamed panel at Oscorp subjects applicant Mr. Zinkievich and a spider to drugs and gamma radiation.

The experiment causes severe injuries, and Zinkievich dies.

Before he dies, he is worried about his 10-year-old sister, Ella.

The panel then arranges for Ella to be taken for offsite personal study, according to an internal memo.

The issue presents Oscorp’s Augustine Project as a source of danger, while also naming familiar Spider-Man villains Norman Osborn, Otto Octavius and Curtis Connors.

The story does not identify who is behind the panel or explain what will happen to Ella next.
