Queer short films at Rio festival explore repression and masculinity

The films tell stories about queer people and the pressures they face.

Some question strict ideas about masculinity and family, while others explore trauma, desire and gay life in old age.

Together, they show that queer experiences are varied and can be shaped by both repression and freedom.
