Riyadh Economic Forum opens with focus on Saudi development priorities

Riyadh’s governor, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, opened the 12th Riyadh Economic Forum on behalf of King Salman.

The event brings together officials, experts and representatives of Saudi Arabia’s public and private sectors.

Five studies will examine economic and development issues facing the country.

Topics include using artificial intelligence and smart farming to strengthen food and water security, and addressing traffic congestion in major cities.

The studies will also look at skills and knowledge transfer, and how public policies can support sustainable development and Saudi Vision 2030.

Another focus is how Saudi Arabia can increase the economic and social benefits of hosting Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup.

The forum, which began in 2003, will offer recommendations and initiatives to support the national economy and decision-making.
