Valerio Moser wins poetry slam world championship in South Africa

Valerio Moser won the poetry slam world championship in Durban, South Africa.

He beat nine other finalists, representing countries including Japan, Ghana and New Zealand.

Moser performed some poems in German, and a panel of judges chose him as the winner.

He is the first German-speaking champion, in a competition that has been held since 2022.

The title brings international recognition to a Swiss spoken-word artist.
