Play in Mexico City explores memory, death and bisexuality

“Si no me acuerdo de ti” is a play being staged at El Círculo Teatral in Mexico City.

Its main character, Miguel, attends a funeral with no body present and tries to work out who has died.

As he searches for answers, he also tries to organize his memories and understand what loss means.

The play deals with illness, death and the difficulty of facing someone’s possible death.

It also explores the deaths and lost ideals of LGBT people in the 1990s, including the harm of conversion camps, which the play says still exist.

Bisexuality is another central subject, and the production challenges the idea that bisexual people are confused.

The play runs on Saturdays at 8 p.m.

from October 3 to December 12, with Javier Mira directing.
