Army selects autonomous electric vehicle for infantry support research

The US Army has selected the Hunter WOLF as one of six projects in its Infantry Last Tactical Mile initiative.

The initiative is researching ways to improve support for soldiers on the battlefield.

Built by BLADE, the six-wheel vehicle drives itself and is designed to carry supplies and equipment over difficult terrain.

It is also intended to help evacuate injured people.

Its electric motors can run on batteries for more than 12 kilometres before a diesel generator recharges them while the vehicle is moving.

With the generator, its stated range is more than 200 miles.

The Army initiative is a research effort, and the information provided does not say what happens next for the Hunter WOLF.
