HUMAIN and Napster partner to develop Arabic-speaking digital employees

Saudi AI company HUMAIN and Napster have formed a partnership to develop digital employees that can communicate in Arabic.

HUMAIN, a company of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, will provide language and speech tools, while Napster will contribute AI agents and technologies for visual and interactive communication.

The systems are intended to understand and speak Arabic, keep a memory of interactions, and communicate through voice, video and chat.

The companies say the tools are designed for government and private-sector organizations in the Middle East and North Africa.

The partnership addresses a gap identified by HUMAIN’s chief executive: many AI platforms were developed mainly for English and may not handle Arabic well.

Napster plans to offer the capabilities to its existing government and business customers in Saudi Arabia and the wider region.

The companies say they will make HUMAIN’s tools available to Napster through secure software interfaces, but give no timeline for deployment.
