Dasara arts and handicrafts camp opens at CAVA in Mysuru

A four-day Dasara Fine Arts and Handicrafts camp opened at the Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Art (CAVA) in Mysuru.

Karnataka’s Minister for Kannada and Culture, Shivaraj Tangadagi, inaugurated it.

The event includes works by amateur and professional artists from across the State, as well as handicrafts by national- and State-level artisans.

Visitors can watch live art and craft demonstrations, see animated short films and attend evening cultural programmes.

Students can take part in drawing contests, and a clay art competition is scheduled for October 13.

The camp ends on October 14, when prizes will be awarded and artists and competition winners will be honoured.

An art fair is planned for October 18, and Tangadagi said measures would be taken to fill vacant posts at CAVA.
