Indian cleantech startups raise record $433 million in Q3 2026
Indian cleantech startups raised a record $433 million in the third quarter of 2026.
That was nearly three times the $118 million raised in the same quarter a year earlier.
Electric mobility drew most of the money: River, Yulu and Ultraviolette raised a combined $298 million.
The number of cleantech deals also rose 44% year on year to 23, while the average investment grew to $19 million from $7 million.
Investors were drawn to businesses they see as commercially viable, as electric-vehicle registrations and consumer demand grew.
But the funding remained concentrated in a few EV companies, leaving other cleantech areas with less investment.
Experts say future growth will depend on investment spreading to areas such as energy storage, grid technology and green hydrogen, as well as stronger local supply chains and sustainable revenues.
