CleanMyMac adds a Gmail cleanup tool that sorts inbox clutter in bulk

MacPaw has added an Email Cleanup feature to its CleanMyMac software.

At launch, it works with Gmail and groups messages into categories such as promotions, newsletters, spam and old drafts.

Users can review items by sender, date, category or file size, then choose what to delete, archive or unsubscribe from.

The feature also identifies large attachments that may take up space across connected Gmail, Google Drive and Google Photos accounts.

MacPaw says the tool analyzes message metadata, such as headers, dates and file sizes, without reading or storing message contents.

It does not take action unless users confirm, and deleted messages go to Gmail Trash, where they can be restored for 30 days.

CleanMyMac offers a seven-day free trial of its annual plan.
