A humanoid robot opened Italy’s National Psychology Day event in Rome.

The robot joked that it had no childhood or childhood trauma because it went straight from the factory to a technological midlife crisis.

The president of Italy’s national psychologists’ council said AI can use empathetic language and imitate a supportive conversation.
She warned that a machine cannot take responsibility for a relationship, and said people should not hand over their capacity for doubt to AI.
