Bangkok nears final preparations for IMF-World Bank annual meeting

The IMF and World Bank annual meeting is set to begin in Bangkok on October 12.

It is the first time Thailand has hosted the event in 35 years.

Security checks will include X-rays and metal detectors.

The convention center will close to the public from October 11 to 18, and Bangkok has made October 16 a special public holiday to help manage traffic.
