Kremlin says Putin and Trump did not want to end their call first

The Kremlin says Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin and wished him well for his birthday.

A Kremlin adviser said the call was friendly and neither leader wanted to hang up first.

They also discussed the war in Ukraine, but Putin said Russia’s goals had not changed.

The report says the leaders may meet in China in November, though no date has been set.
