Besiktas beat Kocaelispor 2-1 amid dispute over Nübel incident

Besiktas beat Kocaelispor 2-1 in a Turkish league match in Istanbul.

Besiktas took the lead through Orkun Kökçü, Kocaelispor equalised, and Dusan Vlahovic scored the winning penalty.

The main dispute came after halftime, when Kocaelispor forward Metehan Altunbas went down in the penalty area and Nübel grabbed his leg.

The referee allowed play to continue, and the video assistant referee did not intervene.

A refereeing expert said the incident should have resulted in a penalty and a red card for Nübel.

Kocaelispor coach Selcuk Inan said his team had been denied its rights, but added that his criticism was not directed at Besiktas.

The match ended with Besiktas winning, while the disputed decision remained the focus after the game.
