Andhra Pradesh launches AI-powered app for Tirumala pilgrims
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has launched Venkatadri, a mobile app for pilgrims visiting the Tirumala hill shrine.
The app was developed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, the body that manages the shrine.
Its AI-powered voice assistant helps users find facilities such as water points, medical centres, toilets, food outlets and darshan entry gates.
It also offers directions offline, which can help in places with little or no internet connection.
The app maps more than 350 locations and includes emergency contacts, bus information and a feature for saving a parking spot.
It is available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and English on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The shrine authority is also developing kiosks so pilgrims without smartphones can access the service.
