Italy fines two companies about €830,000 over telemarketing numbers

Italy’s communications regulator, Agcom, fined Retelit Digital Services €700,000 and Tekmind €122,500.

The fines concern the use of phone numbers for sales and marketing calls.

Agcom began its checks in November 2025 after receiving numerous complaints.

It said the companies failed to carry out required checks on numbers used by call centres.

Those checks include looking for spoofing, which means falsifying the caller’s identity.

Agcom said anti-spoofing filters blocked more than 190 million illegal calls in their first eight months.

The regulator did not state what further steps, if any, will follow.
