Red chilli prices rose in 314 Indonesian districts and cities

Indonesia’s statistics agency says red chilli prices rose in 314 districts and cities by the second week of October 2026.

The national average was Rp67,313 per kilogram, up 17.3% from September.

The highest price was Rp193,333 per kilogram in East Halmahera Regency, while the lowest was Rp26,600.

Bird’s eye chilli prices also rose, averaging Rp88,138 per kilogram, an 11.85% increase from the previous month.

Prices for both types were above government reference levels and continued to rise across many monitored areas.

The figures matter because chilli prices affect food costs, and the agency said the increases need attention.

The data were presented at a government meeting on regional inflation control, but no further steps were specified.
