Zelenskyy says Russia violated energy ceasefire announced by Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump announced an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine on Sunday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia had violated the proposed truce and continued attacking energy infrastructure.

He said he learned about the arrangement from the media and was waiting for details of its terms.

Ukraine is ready to agree to guarantees against attacks on Russian energy sites, Zelenskyy said.

The two countries have exchanged strikes on energy infrastructure for months, and recent attacks disrupted electricity and water in parts of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy urged Washington to take a clear step to make sure Russia respects the ceasefire, saying it could help reduce the war’s escalation.

He said Ukraine would respond if Russia did not agree to the truce.
