Morante faces hostility on return to Madrid’s Las Ventas bullring

Bullfighter Morante de la Puebla returned to Las Ventas in Madrid for the Hispanidad bullfight.

A year earlier, he had staged a retirement ceremony at the same arena, but later returned to bullfighting.

Some spectators, particularly in section seven, criticized him during the event, including for how he positioned himself before the bulls.

With a bull named Rosito, Morante performed three strong sequences, especially with the left hand.

He then failed with the sword, which cost him the chance of a triumph.

The event also included political figures and tributes linked to the Spanish national celebration, while Mexican bullfighter Héctor Gutiérrez performed with another bull.
