Tata Communications shifts from connectivity to digital infrastructure and AI readiness

Amitabh Sarkar, a Tata Communications vice-president for Asia Pacific and Japan, says companies now expect technology to help shape their businesses, not just support them.

Tata Communications, long known for global connectivity, is presenting itself as a broader digital infrastructure and intelligence partner.

Its services now include cloud and edge capabilities, security, digital platforms and customer experience tools alongside its network.

This shift reflects how companies use multiple cloud services, older and newer applications, and many security tools that can be difficult to manage together.

Sarkar says many companies have ambitious plans for artificial intelligence, but their infrastructure may not be ready to support them.

He argues that putting AI into everyday business use requires clear goals, suitable operating models, connected data, staff adoption and secure infrastructure that can scale.
