Beijing forum brings together more than 600 guests to discuss Asia-Pacific cooperation

The 2026 Tongzhou Global Development Forum was held on October 11 at Renmin University of China’s Tongzhou campus in Beijing.

More than 600 people from business, politics and academia, representing over 40 countries, attended.

The forum focused on China’s development and the Asia-Pacific community, and proposed five actions to build stronger regional knowledge ties.

These include training talent, encouraging exchange and research, and improving networks and cooperation.

The university also released research on topics including global development to 2050, energy, regional cooperation and security.

An international research alliance linked to the Global Development Initiative was launched, with 74 experts from 26 countries joining.

The forum says it will continue to provide a platform for discussion and shared ideas.
