‘Meatballs’ Reimagines the Canadian Summer Camp Comedy for Crave

‘Meatballs’ Reimagines the Canadian Summer Camp Comedy for Crave

Meatballs is a new comedy series based on the 1979 Canadian film of the same name.

It stars Robbie G.K. as Dale and Maddie Phillips as Skipper, counselors at a failing summer camp.

The camp hopes to attract 200 children, though the counselors may be more invested in making it their home away from home.

The series uses a mockumentary style and has been described as a raunchy, irreverent reimagining.

Canadian companies Blink49 Studios and Incendo are making the show for Crave.

Its arrival comes amid growing international attention for Canadian productions, including Crave’s hit drama Heated Rivalry.

Sphere Abacus, owned by Crave parent Bell Media, is selling Meatballs to buyers at MIPCOM Cannes.
