Man charged over alleged abuse of teenage girl arrested in Queensland
A 46-year-old man from Warwick has been arrested at a campsite in Taroom, in rural Queensland.
Police accuse him of grooming, assaulting and raping a teenage girl he knew in Brisbane between 2013 and 2018.
He faces 18 charges, including seven counts of rape and nine counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
Police said the girl’s decision to come forward took courage and that they investigate reports of both recent and historic offences.
The man was refused bail and was scheduled to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police investigations are continuing.
