Lithium Plus prepares 10-hole drilling campaign at Lei project

Lithium Plus Minerals is preparing a 10-hole drilling campaign at its Lei lithium project in the Northern Territory.

Eight shallow reverse circulation holes will test a secondary pegmatite, a rock formation about 170 metres east of the main deposit.

Two deeper diamond holes will target the main pegmatite and also pass through the secondary one.

Earlier drilling found lithium in the secondary formation, but it has not been explored enough to establish a mineral resource.

The main deposit has an estimated resource of 5.22 million tonnes, and the deeper holes aim to improve confidence in parts of it.

The work is part of studies into a possible direct-shipping-ore operation, with Lei about 80 kilometres by road from Darwin Port.

After the Lei drilling, the company plans to move the rig to its nearby Perseverance target.
