King River starts 11,000-metre gold drilling program in Western Australia
King River Resources has started an 11,082-metre drilling program at its Mindoolah gold project in Western Australia’s Murchison region.
The project is about 70 kilometres north-west of Cue and has been mined in the past.
The company plans to test eight targets, with most drilling focused on three areas, including beneath the old Excelsior pit.
It will also investigate untested ground and follow up on gold found during an earlier drilling campaign.
That first phase found shallow gold at several prospects, including a result of 13.59 grams per tonne over one metre at Bertram’s.
The new drilling is intended to give the company a clearer picture of where gold may lie, including at greater depths.
The company has also begun an aeromagnetic survey this month.
King River Resources has started an 11,082-metre reverse-circulation drilling program at its Mindoolah gold project in Western Australia.
The phase-two campaign will test eight priority targets in the Murchison region, about 70 kilometres north-west of Cue.
The program is the company’s largest targeted drilling campaign at Mindoolah.
Drilling will focus mainly on Excelsior, the Demagnetised Target and Excelsior Repeat.
The campaign follows phase-one drilling that reported shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation.
- Who
- King River Resources is conducting the drilling program.
- What
- The company has started an 11,082-metre reverse-circulation drilling campaign.
- When
- October 12, 2026.
- Where
- The Mindoolah gold project, about 70 kilometres north-west of Cue in Western Australia’s Murchison region.
- Why
- To test eight priority targets and investigate potential gold mineralisation, including deeper extensions beneath historical workings.
This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
With the rig active on site and the aeromagnetic survey kicking off this month,we are entering a catalyst-rich period.
Commencing this 11,082m Phase-two RC campaign marks a major milestone for Mindoolah, representing our largest targeted drilling program to date at Mindoolah.
Phase-one achieved its core objective, confirming shallow gold mineralisation beneath historical workings while providing the subsurface data required to build a robust geological model.
The initial drilling campaign reported a 79 per cent hit rate and confirmed shallow gold mineralisation.
