Cousins complete Melbourne Marathon together, raising funds for Huntington’s research
Nick Morrison pushed his 21-year-old cousin Toby Holt through the 42.2-kilometre Melbourne Marathon in Australia.
Holt, who lives in Wagga Wagga, has juvenile Huntington’s disease, a rare inherited condition that affects movement and speech and has no cure.
He uses a wheelchair, and Morrison offered to take him around the course.
Near the finish, Morrison helped Holt out of the chair and carried him across the line so they could finish together.
The run gave the family a shared milestone and helped draw attention to Huntington’s disease.
The cousins raised more than $4,000 for Huntington’s Australia, which supports people with the disease and their families.
