Saudi Arabia signs energy cooperation deals with several countries and forum

Saudi Arabia signed a series of energy cooperation agreements and memorandums during the World Petroleum Congress, which the country is hosting until October 15, 2026.

The deals involve Mongolia, Tanzania, Cyprus, Mauritius, the International Energy Forum and Sierra Leone’s energy ministry.

They cover areas such as oil and gas, electricity, renewable energy, clean hydrogen, energy efficiency and climate measures.

Some agreements also address fuel infrastructure, clean cooking, digital technology and supply chains.

The deals set out areas for cooperation, but no specific projects or funding amounts are given.

They matter because they create a framework for the countries and organizations involved to work together on energy supply, cleaner technologies and access to energy.

The congress continues in Saudi Arabia until October 15, but no further steps or project timelines are specified.
