Jessica Chastain Stars as Mother and Monster in ‘Other Mommy’

“Other Mommy” is a horror film about an eight-year-old girl and a strange presence in her home.

Jessica Chastain plays both the girl’s mother and the frightening entity.

The review says the film is often bewildering and rarely scary, but finds sadness in the creature’s desire to be loved.

It also explores how family problems affect what the child understands.
